What's the Best Type of Home Gym for You?

If you're like most people today, life is busy, hectic and complicated; and there's usually not enough time to do things for yourself. If getting back into (or staying in) shape is important to you... having a Home Gym might be just what you need to continue on this fast track to getting into great shape.
The benefits of owning a Home Gym far outweigh those of only being able to get your workouts when at a public gym. If you haven't gone to a gym recently... the biggest issue (aside from the fact you've got to drive to get there) is that you'll undoubtedly have to "share" the equipment... and that really translates into waiting for someone to finish their "reps" or set or whatever.
This basically means that you won't be able to follow your workout "routine" or do your sets the way you'd like... and will have to move on to another machine while someone "does their thing" on the machine you're waiting for.
So clearly the biggest advantage of a home gym is that it's ultra-convenient and it's always "standing by" for you when you need it. Want to get in a quick workout before you shower and get dressed for work? No problem. Had a long stressful day and you're getting home too late to go to the gym?
With your own private gym at home you'll find that you can lose weight and get into shape far more quickly, just because you'll be able to sneak in an extra couple of sets whenever you're in the mood.
Ever wake up in the middle of the night; can't fall back to sleep and have to get up in a couple of hours? When that happens to me, I used to get up and read; but now I'll go do a set or two. Afterwards, when I crawl back into bed, I'm fully relaxed and slip back into a deep sleep and wake up feeling well rested and refreshed!
If you've gone to a YMCA or been in a gym recently, you've seen all the amazing advances that have taken place in exercise equipment in the last few years... Many Stationary Bikes have built-in heart monitors; Treadmills and Elliptical Machines are adjustable to simulate walking up hills or hiking; and even Rowing Machines can be "programmed" to simulate mild to extreme workouts.
All of those types of equipment are now available for use in one's home. The multi-exercise "workout stations" used to cost about the same as a new car; but now they are really quite reasonably priced and when you spread the cost over a few years, most are far less expensive than a three-year membership in a crowded gym.
Some of the different types of Home Gyms include those with adjustable forms of "resistance," ranging from bands and rod to springs; while others are more traditional and use adjustable weights to provide a variety of strength training exercises.
Many of these Home Gyms are quite compact considering the number of different exercises they provide; and others are quite elaborate, offering a wide variety of workout options... and take up a much more considerable amount of room.
Shopping around, you'll note that they obviously vary greatly in price.
After doing our research and looking at a number of them, we've made a list of some of the most popular Home Gyms (note the reviews) that offer, as the old saying goes... "The most Bang for Your Buck"...
Oh, yeah... Remember that other old saying, "No pain, no gain"? Well, I'm 62 and in better shape now than I was when I was in my thirties! As for that pain? Yeah, sure... it takes some exertion to keep going when you feel that burning sensation when lifting that last set of reps... But afterwards, the wave of endorphins that surges through your system is a really great and satisfying feeling.
And nothing can compare to the happiness that I get by being able to lift up my grand-daughter high up over my head as she squeals, laughs and giggles...
One last thought... I used to think protein powders were only for bodybuilders who were pumping up for pro competition. I never realized how beneficial they are for increasing strength and for muscle recovery after a serious workout.
Maybe its vanity, but I'm using them now and really enjoy the taste of a delicious protein shake... as well as the fact that my arms are now a couple of inches thicker than they used to be!
